Stop hating on the Pacific Chorus Tree Frog


There is a movement afoot to Force a vote on Pacific Chorus Frog as (Washington) state amphibian in an effort to stop the designation. Breaking with basic journalism rules, they fail to say why.

Is it because it has a "dark mask across its eyes"? Perhaps some bluenoses don't like the fact that this species of frog "even breeds in empty buckets and old, discarded tires!"

All I'm saying, if you want me to go collect signatures to defeat some bill, there better be a good reason.

Walmart really grinds my gears

Teresa just did her weekly Walmart trip, I know that it's the holidays, there is a ham there that was pushing $30. And Tide detergent, everything else was just low key expensive. I get it, tarrifs, rising cost of labor, insurance, yada yada yada. The total was about $225 - I have bought cars for less than than! Not very good cars, I'm just saying. What really grinds my gears though was the blatant lie at the very bottom of the reciept; Low prices You Can Trust. Every Day. A better tagline might be We know, everything is expensive, it's not just us. Maybe put the oreos back? To which I might reply: I got your creme filling right here, Buddy.

Feng Shui my foot, I tripped over the potted plant...

We have been weeding out our books, I've got this little book that advises how to improve the "Feng Shui" around here. Some of it is pretty far out. It says to put a compost pile in the West part of the garden, but goes on to say. it's a good area for "Sunbathing, convalescing, and entertaining" Am I missing a page? I'm Giving my copy away at bookmooch.
