HEY KOOL-AID

From the free part on Craigslist; Koolaid (North Bend) Reply to:sale-ntznx-118****592@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] Date: 2009-&&-87, 4:45PM PDT I have 26 packets of Koolaid that have been sitting in my pantry, and quite frankly, I'm tired of looking at them. My boys don't drink the stuff any more, and I don't want to send it to the landfill. (7) Tropical Punch (6) Cherry (2) Grape (3) Black Cherry (6) Watermelon Cherry (1) Berry Blue (1) Orange So come and get it! ...Right, I'll drive all the way to North Bend to replenish my supply of flavored sugar-water. I don't think so. Now, throw in some "Goofy Grape" and I'll be there for that. But Kool-aid? I understand your reluctance to despoil the landfill with these packets of strange crystals, but it's more fun to take a handful to the dr. and drop a couple crystals in those little cups in the bathroom next to the phlebotomy lab.

Here's a puzzler from the Snohomish County Freecycle list... ... There's no "C" in "Melissa and Doug"

Freecycle people don't mind the smell

From the "Snohomish County Freecycle" mailing list: I have about 8-10 pounds of palm oil and another 8-10 pounds of coconut oil that have gone rancid (they stink). They might be good for bio-diesel. Has it come to that? Do people have cars that you can dump any old kind of grease or oil in the tank and the machine runs flawlessly? Like on Back to The Future III? I need to look into that. Our friend Ethyl is getting a bit too big for her britches.

Another gem from the Snohomish county freelist...

NEED EXERCISE EQUIPMENT

From our local "Freecycle" list; it's an endless source of amusement. I just woke up, and at first I thought a GUY wrote this, or maybe it is so, which would bring shame to all of the male gender; HELP! I was just asked to be in my girlfriends wedding. Need to lose weight ASAP. Anyone have any weights, rowing machine, stairmaster, or any equiptment that is gathering dust or being used as an extra clothes hanger? I could really put to good use. Thank you - I only have 3 months! EEK!! ... EEK indeed. So, what is she going to do "in" her girlfriend's wedding? Sheesh, nobody's going to be looking at you, it's your girlfriend's big day. Just go and don't whine about the ugly bridesmaid dresses. And hope nobody recognizes you from the bachelor party. (Three weeks into the new year does seem the ideal time to obtain cast-off like-new exercise equipment, half empty boxes of nicotine patches, and other personal torture devices)

You can get anything you want...

Forget Alice's Restaurant, you can get anything you want for free from the Snohomish County FreeCycler's list... Offered: Lots of blue Jolly Ranchers So... awhile ago my co-worker gave me all the blue Jolly Ranchers out of her mega-Costco-sized bag of Jolly Ranchers, cuz she didn't like the blue ones. I thought, "Hey, I like the blue ones! Sure I'll take them! WOOHOO FREE CANDY!". Except now it's been a year or two, and I still have them. I guess I didn't like them as much as I thought. I fear that if I continue to hang onto them, they'll continue to sit in my cabinet forever. There's a full ziplock bag full, and another half of a ziplock bag. I did have one tonight just to make sure that flavored sugar and carbs doesn't go bad or anything, but it was A-OK. Let me know when you can come pick-up, and I'll leave it on the porch for ya. I wish I didn't have to work today, I could go snag those ancient blue Jolly Ranchers off her porc...

Son's room must be a scary place

From the Snohomish County Freecycle Yahoo list. Good grief, what else is fermenting in there? Not that I'm one to talk, I think we have some vintage cola in the pantry. My son came out of his room with a case+++ of misc. pop with dates of 05 & 06. I don't know if that is the mfg. dates or the pull dates. (The diet coke I am drinking now says Dec. 06) He used to have it in the mini fridge in his room but now he drinks no pop at all now & I only drink reg.diet coke! Folks online making it happen... groovy

We belong to a yahoo email group that allows members to give away items that they no longer can use. I have seen items ranging from a single paperback book to a motorhome being given away here. We have used this method to "dispose of" a rubber raft, a box of records and a turntable, some wire shelving, a couple bicyles, and more. We have obtained; several bags of styrofoam peanuts, some books on tape, a dresser (It's in the garage waiting to be repainted!) and some other items I don't remember right now. The trick is to move fast; as soon as they are posted, items are claimed. If you are second or third to email, you might stand a chance (sometimes people don't show up). Some of the wierder items I have seen include a cool medical-school skeleton, the Mrs. wouldn't let me. Also people post junk NO ONE would want, I am always surprised when someone claims "Large bright orange couch, some stains, and cat scratches. The left arm is loose but you could fix th...
