Ditching Cable for Internet #1

I like to say "we" have decided to switch to 100% Internet TV, ditching Cable and TIVO, But this is a household with two middle-aged adults, and two young adults, one in school and one as a boarder (YES I charge rent!) The young people are cool with it, as young people are wont to be, but the Mrs. isn't too keen on the idea. So, part of the process will be to convince her that it's worth it to save $840 plus a year. Follow along with the tag below DITCH.CABLE to learn from my mistakes.

Walmart really grinds my gears

Teresa just did her weekly Walmart trip, I know that it's the holidays, there is a ham there that was pushing $30. And Tide detergent, everything else was just low key expensive. I get it, tarrifs, rising cost of labor, insurance, yada yada yada. The total was about $225 - I have bought cars for less than than! Not very good cars, I'm just saying. What really grinds my gears though was the blatant lie at the very bottom of the reciept; Low prices You Can Trust. Every Day. A better tagline might be We know, everything is expensive, it's not just us. Maybe put the oreos back? To which I might reply: I got your creme filling right here, Buddy.

Feng Shui my foot, I tripped over the potted plant...

We have been weeding out our books, I've got this little book that advises how to improve the "Feng Shui" around here. Some of it is pretty far out. It says to put a compost pile in the West part of the garden, but goes on to say. it's a good area for "Sunbathing, convalescing, and entertaining" Am I missing a page?
