The phantom Cheapo lives!

Great human interest story picked up by the Seattle P-I this morning, about two brothers exchanging the same birthday card since 1973. The card has a cartoon of a masked bandit on a motorcycle with the caption, "The Phantom Cheapo strikes again!"

The card is getting full now, and it's all taped up. These days a person could go one better and send an email card instead. Now that's cheap!

Walmart really grinds my gears

Teresa just did her weekly Walmart trip, I know that it's the holidays, there is a ham there that was pushing $30. And Tide detergent, everything else was just low key expensive. I get it, tarrifs, rising cost of labor, insurance, yada yada yada. The total was about $225 - I have bought cars for less than than! Not very good cars, I'm just saying. What really grinds my gears though was the blatant lie at the very bottom of the reciept; Low prices You Can Trust. Every Day. A better tagline might be We know, everything is expensive, it's not just us. Maybe put the oreos back? To which I might reply: I got your creme filling right here, Buddy.

My wife is a GODSEND

I am so glad that Teresa accompanies me on at least some of my daily walks, And I got needlessly offended by something a guy on the next block said in passing. But she straightened me out; "NO JOHN, he said 'Typically Nasty Weather', not 'Tickle my ass with a feather' * " ( * Jerry Seinfeld adds, "Not that there's anything wrong with that!")
