Rain streak ends, rain continues

As a person born and raised in and around Seattle, I have been somewhat sickened by the constant whining about... the rain. It's SEATTLE. It's *supposed* to rain there.

In fact, used to be we were compelled to complain to visiting relatives about the unbearable bright hot sun, when the weather was nice; Lest they think that weather to be normal and want to move up here and drive up real estate prices, clog up the highway, and build software and grunge music empires. Which of course they did anyway.

Emmett Watson must be rolling over in his grave.

Walmart really grinds my gears

Teresa just did her weekly Walmart trip, I know that it's the holidays, there is a ham there that was pushing $30. And Tide detergent, everything else was just low key expensive. I get it, tarrifs, rising cost of labor, insurance, yada yada yada. The total was about $225 - I have bought cars for less than than! Not very good cars, I'm just saying. What really grinds my gears though was the blatant lie at the very bottom of the reciept; Low prices You Can Trust. Every Day. A better tagline might be We know, everything is expensive, it's not just us. Maybe put the oreos back? To which I might reply: I got your creme filling right here, Buddy.

Feng Shui my foot, I tripped over the potted plant...

We have been weeding out our books, I've got this little book that advises how to improve the "Feng Shui" around here. Some of it is pretty far out. It says to put a compost pile in the West part of the garden, but goes on to say. it's a good area for "Sunbathing, convalescing, and entertaining" Am I missing a page? I'm Giving my copy away at bookmooch.
