What we won't be offering this Christmas season



I was looking at one of those "gift" websites (not even a real website- a Geocities page - the seller claims to have a number of satisfied customers since September 1 that is greater than our satisfied and disgruntled customers combined!! To make matters worse, here's an example of what she's peddling;







Good Lord, I hope it's not an alarm clock!! Can you imagine waking up to THAT every morning? I would have little bits of "alibastrite" all over the wall, the first time. The only use I can see is if some family had a tradition of "ugliest gift".
What a waste of a AA battery.

Walmart really grinds my gears

Teresa just did her weekly Walmart trip, I know that it's the holidays, there is a ham there that was pushing $30. And Tide detergent, everything else was just low key expensive. I get it, tarrifs, rising cost of labor, insurance, yada yada yada. The total was about $225 - I have bought cars for less than than! Not very good cars, I'm just saying. What really grinds my gears though was the blatant lie at the very bottom of the reciept; Low prices You Can Trust. Every Day. A better tagline might be We know, everything is expensive, it's not just us. Maybe put the oreos back? To which I might reply: I got your creme filling right here, Buddy.

Feng Shui my foot, I tripped over the potted plant...

We have been weeding out our books, I've got this little book that advises how to improve the "Feng Shui" around here. Some of it is pretty far out. It says to put a compost pile in the West part of the garden, but goes on to say. it's a good area for "Sunbathing, convalescing, and entertaining" Am I missing a page? I'm Giving my copy away at bookmooch.
