There's been a big hoopla because a school district up the road a piece (Puyallup WA) cancelled in school Halloween activities, partly to avoid incurring the wrath of local witches (I kid you not).

Rampant political correctness is a scary thing. Why, if it was this way in the 60's, we wouldn't even have good cartoons like Tom and Jerry. Just this morning I saw the tail end of one - Tom was feeling guilty for casting Jerry out in the snow (animal abuse?) So he brings him in and gives him a hearty dose of Schnapp's (I estimated that Jerry drank three times his body weight) which of course brought a big smile to his face and turned him Bavarian. Is that so wrong?

Walmart really grinds my gears

Teresa just did her weekly Walmart trip, I know that it's the holidays, there is a ham there that was pushing $30. And Tide detergent, everything else was just low key expensive. I get it, tarrifs, rising cost of labor, insurance, yada yada yada. The total was about $225 - I have bought cars for less than than! Not very good cars, I'm just saying. What really grinds my gears though was the blatant lie at the very bottom of the reciept; Low prices You Can Trust. Every Day. A better tagline might be We know, everything is expensive, it's not just us. Maybe put the oreos back? To which I might reply: I got your creme filling right here, Buddy.

Feng Shui my foot, I tripped over the potted plant...

We have been weeding out our books, I've got this little book that advises how to improve the "Feng Shui" around here. Some of it is pretty far out. It says to put a compost pile in the West part of the garden, but goes on to say. it's a good area for "Sunbathing, convalescing, and entertaining" Am I missing a page? I'm Giving my copy away at bookmooch.
